Locomotive Park is home to famed Steam Engine #3759. Presented to the City of Kingman as a historical monument in 1957 by the Santa Fe Railway Company, this “Mountain Type” coal-burning locomotive was built in 1928 by Baldwin Locomotive Works.
Another great pic thanks to the brilliant purchase of the selfie stick by one Brenda Lusby
We are on our way to CoolSprings, AZ we have 3/4 tank of gas and Kevin just about gives us whiplash pulling into the gas station. He said he thinks we need to fill up before we head out for the day. He also asked will you fill er up? I need to run into the restroom. I said sure. I fill the tank, wash the windows and clean the bug goo off of the headlights. He still had not made it back yet.
I look up and saw this sign ahead of me flashing GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS!!!
So I drive around the back and look who I find.
I told him to get in the car we needed to get going. He said nope time for my massage.

The Entrance to the Black Mountains.
Cool Springs Service Station was built in the 1920s and eventually had a cafe, a bar, and cabins. But Route 66 was bypassed in 1953, and the station was abandoned in 1964. In 1991 the Cool Springs camp was blown up for the Jean-Claude Van Damme movie Universal Soldier. It laid there as a pile of blackened until a man from Chicago started restoring it from pictures in 2001. I was completed in 2004. Thanks Ned! for bringing this stop back to life.
On your way to Oatman you take a very scenic and a little scary drive through Sitegraves pass. It was once the most intimidating portion of Route 66, with its steep grades, narrow road, and sharp hairpin curves.

Next stop Cali!!!!
We are in Cali now. Thus in a few minutes we will be driving on I-15 We make it almost a whole 15-20 minutes before we read the sign above that says the interstate is shutdown due to an accident. We see nothing but a parking lot of brake lights ahead of us and we quickly get off on the exit that is right next too us. It ends up being an awesome detour. We went through the San Bernadino National Forest. Below are a couple of pics. Suuuuuuper windy roads, but beautiful.
We have made it to our destination San Bernadino, CA. The last built wigwam camp. This is number #7. This is also the second and final wigwam on Route 66.
Great Place to stay really enjoyed it. Can't wait to go to Cave City, KY to stay at the last of the three remaining WigWam's in the United States.
We also learned a valuable lesson here in San Bernardino. We learned what Soul Food is.
Tomorrow we go and pick up the rest of the yahoo's from the John Wayne Airport 9:30. Needless to say we are a little gun shy about the interstate so we will be taking all back roads to pick them up. we are giving ourselves a couple of hours to get to them. Worst case scenario we play on our phones until they get here.
